Review: Sportman's Lodge, Jackson, MS

Located at 1220 East Northside Drive, Suite 100, Jackson, MS (Far left side of Maywood Mart Shopping Center). The Sportman's Lodge is a mid-priced sports restaurant with a comfortable feel and plenty of TVs (three different college basketball games within easy view during my mid-day visit).

Voted "Best Sports Bar in Jackson" by the Jackson Free Press readers.
Voted "Best Wings in Town" by the 93.9 Wing Tour.

A very impressive 60+ different bottled beer (easy-to-view glass-front coolers). ONLY 4 beer on tap (usual domestics)....BUT, they are working hard to get Lazy Magnolia on tap and should have it soon.

Service was great...I never sat with an empty beer bottle.

Pub Review: Mellow Mushroom, Flowood, MS

Pros:

24 beers on tap...very nice selection for Mississippi.

Excellent pizza.

Cons:

The bar stools seemed intentionally wobbly...made me feel like the seat might fall off the post.

The chairs at the tables were no better...small, weak and flimsy (the chair creaked with each movement, felt like it was going to collapse).

Bar staff tended to disappear at times....had to wait for them to return to get a refill.
