Friend and fellow craft beer geek Butch Bailey has an excellent article on pairing beer with food. Check it out at his blog or on the Hattiesburg American site.

Beer Drinker's Map of Mississippi T-shirts

Anyone down in Hattiesburg know Miss Boatwright? ...so I can get one of these T-shirts.

Spotted: Kathi Boatwright
...
Tell us about your fundraiser. We are selling the Beer Drinker's Map of Mississippi T-shirts that show the wet and dry counties for our Gamma Theta Upsilon Geography Honor Society. It helps fund the expenses to some of the conferences we attend. Another class actually came up with the idea for the shirts about four years ago and they sold so well that we decided to just update them.

Southern Gold Honey Ale

Looks like a new Lazy Magnolia beer has been released.

Southern Gold - Golden Honey Ale ["Just for Hattiesburg"].

Guess I will not see this one in the Jackson area, so I'm counting on Butch to hook me up.

Busy Beer Weekend...

The Emerald Coast Brew Fest is Friday, September 7 in Pensacola, FL. I have my ticket and will make the drive down tomorrow afternoon. Mississippi's own Lazy Magnolia will be there. Pictures will be posted early next week.

While in Florida, I plan to stock up on better beers that Mississippi does not want to sell me. So....Florida will get my money instead of our own state. Visit www.meba.ms for more details.

On the return trip, I will stop in at the Keg and Barrel in Hattiesburg for the first meeting of the new Hattiesburg Craft Beer Club.

Quite a weekend ahead...
