Vote on Sunday beer sales for Reservoir area coming up
Rankin supervisors are scheduled to vote on a measure Thursday that, if passed, would allow Ross Barnett Reservoir-area stores to sell beer on Sundays.

Prohibited in most of the county, Pearl River Valley Water Supply District officials asked the Board of Supervisors to amend the beer ordinance for the district.
The agendas presented at this morning's work session showed the item.
Restrictions against alcohol have relaxed recently; select Flowood restaurants began selling liquor and wine last week, and Flowood and Pelahatchie approve measures allowing Sunday sales of beer in the past year.
Because Madison County businesses just across the spillway can sell on Sunday, Slay said the “perception by these businesses on the Rankin County side think it’s unfair.”
